IN A NUTSHELL ABOUT US

Today one of the most serious problems in the world is the threat presented by the lack of reliable sources of clean drinking water. Zambia is located in sub-Saharan Africa where droughts are a persistent threat.

In 2016 Zambia is experiencing an epic drought that has dried typical sources of water that is used for drinking, cleanliness, and raising crops and livestock. Children are particularly vulnerable to the waterbourne diseases that are aquired by drinking contaminated water in steams and ponds. The LGWF is committed to saving lives by providing reliable sources of clean water through our well projects.

During a prayers and concerns segment of a worship service at Yardley United Methodist Church, located in Yardley, PA, Richard Hachoose, who had just returned from visiting his family and home village in Zambia,  shared that Zambia was in the midst of a severe drought that had begun in 2001. He helped us understand the need for a reliable water well and pump for his family and village and emphasized that this need existed in rural villages throughout Zambia.  The congregation readily agreed to help fund this project.

This first project for the Life-Giving Water Fund was completed in June 2003 and provided a reliable source of fresh water for Kachenga, Richard's home village. When we heard about the benefits of this first well, we were excited about helping other villages in Zambia!

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Life-Giving Water Fund is to improve the lives of children and their families by providing reliable sources of fresh, clean drinking water.

The Life-Giving Water Fund provides deep water wells for rural villages in Zambia. The people living in these villages desperately need local, reliable sources of fresh water. Millions of people in Zambia don't have access to clean water.
